The other day D mentioned that he’s bored of Chocolate cakes and would like to get something new. It was just what I wanted to hear.. :-) I made up my mind to make the Simple Vanilla Cupcakes. I have professed our love for seafood in my earlier post. During our recent trip to Kerala, we managed to get hold of some Crabs as well. Two things were on my mind at that time. One, our growling tummies and the second, you, my readers. Well..I had to put up one crab recipe at least. Had we not been so hardpressed for time, I would have cooked up more variety. Pirozhki, in Russian, means individual-sized baked or fried buns stuffed with a variety of fillings. Initially when I came across this name, I was really intrigued by the name itself. The recipe I am sharing would be sufficient to fill two medium sized glasses. (more…)

Our family is crazy about seafood in all forms. Whenever we go to Kerala, D has a long list of Seafood dishes he wishes to have. Among them Kakka Irachi or Clam Meat is one of his all time favourites. The best part is that once it is made, none of us have the patience to wait till meal time. At least half of it would have already reached its destination….. our stomachs. :-) (more…)

One of the must-do items during our trip home (Kerala) was to try out as many seafood dishes as possible. Though the list was exhaustive, we did manage to strike off quite a few from it. Topmost on the list was Prawn Cutlets aka Chemmeen Vada, an all time favourite of ours. No matter how much we have, we still yearn for more…. My Mom is well aware of this and prepares it in advance. Needless to say, this is my Mom’s recipe.  (more…)
