Salami rosettes1

It was during one of those internet browsing sessions, that I came across Salami-Bread Roses. Though the idea did ring a bell, I was too preoccupied to give it a second look. Nevertheless, the thought stayed in my mind, and while preparing the dough for Cinnamon Rolls, it popped out. So I took out a bit of the dough and made two roses. Voila!! It was a beauty !! Hats off  to the person who came up with this amazing idea.

The first time I tried my hand at baking bread was during my college days. Even though my enthusiasm was over the roof, the end result didn’t come out as expected.  I think the technicalities were overwhelming for a teenager without much experience. Pirozhki, in Russian, means individual-sized baked or fried buns stuffed with a variety of fillings. Initially when I came across this name, I was really intrigued by the name itself. Only when I googled it did I realise that it meant Stuffed Buns. The dough was prepared following the recipe from Rahile’s Recipes. However, I gave my own twist to the filling. (more…)

Here’s good news for all the ‘Cantaloupe Haters’ like me.. :-) Yeah!! You read it right…I meant Cantaloupe a.k.a Muskmelon ‘haters’. You must be wondering if I have gone crazy…. Definitely Not. I don’t know why, I was always intrigued by Scones. Even though I had never tasted them, I wanted to try and make them some day. I came to know of scones while watching a TV program.
