This time when D requested for Pasta, I wanted to try something new, something quite different from what I had been making. A quick look at my saved recipes, I came across this Creamy Penne Pasta with Roasted Chicken recipe from ‘Simple Daily Recipes’. It was indeed a simple recipe and it turned out to be delicious too. Now that I have got into the grind, I was highly motivated to try out something new today. A quick look at the pantry and my eyes didn’t go past the Bucatini. :-) Bucatini is a thick spaghetti-like pasta with a hole running through the centre. The name comes from Italian: buco, meaning “hole”, while bucato means “pierced” (Courtesy: Wikipedia). As I had saved the recipe of  Bucatini All’Amatriciana with Spicy Mozzarella Meatballs in my favourites folder, I didn’t have to search for the recipe. (more…)

Macaroni and Cheese, commonly known as Mac and Cheese is the combination of cooked elbow macaroni and cheese sauce. Earlier I used to make macaroni with white sauce. When I came across the Baked Macaroni and cheese  recipe by Alton Brown, I decided to give it a try. Boy!!! Was it yum??? D just loved it. What I liked the best about this dish is the crunchiness of the breadcrumbs along with the mac n cheese. Here’s the recipe for all you Mac n Cheese lovers :-) (more…)

Every time the word “Pasta or Pizza” is mentioned, J has this look on his face, as if someone just slapped him. Somehow he is not fond of them, but gives in to D’s demand. Few months back, we had gone to our club during some festival. As usual J and D went to buy the snacks and returned with a plateful of pasta.
