Last Sunday, I was really in the mood to laze around a bit and that was when D came with the request to make Chocolate Coconut Macaroon Truffles, which he saw in a magazine he was browsing. Before I could give out my excuse he volunteered to help me with it. With all my defenses down, I reluctantly agreed to his request.

Cookies are an all time favourite in our household. Every time I get a request from D, I try and make something new. Today, when the request came, I decided to give a shot at Oatmeal Cookies. The recipe of Oatmeal Cookies was taken from Allrecipes. It is an easy to make recipe. Once the cookies were in the oven, all I had to worry about was the result and how well received they would be. Both my boys couldn’t stop at one. Well…Actions speak louder than words, don’t they??? That leaves me with yet another achievement to be proud of and another recipe for keeps!!! Now it is your turn.. :-) (more…)

Yesterday D offered me a piece of Sunfeast Dark Fantasy Chocofills and asked, “Isn’t it good?”, to which I replied in the affirmative. However, I wasn’t quite prepared for the question that followed. “Mama, can’t you make this???” That set me thinking….. Well, yeah I gotta try making this. Even though I have never done any experimentation in baking till date, I thought it was time to stretch my limit. After all it was a challenge… :-) (more…)

It’s Valentines day and what better way to celebrate than with a treat of Chocolates!!! So how did the relation of valentines day with chocolates come into being? As I was browsing through Martha Stewart‘s recipes, I was intrigued by the Neapolitan Cookies. It looked inviting due to the contrasting colours of chocolate-espresso and orange sable dough. The subtle orange flavour combined with the strong taste of chocolate and the tanginess of cranberries, makes this cookie very interesting. Those who tried it loved it. If you aren’t a cranberry fan, you can always omit and stick to the basic dough. Try it out and you too would love it. :-)

When J broke the news that he has to go to Delhi for some work, I decided to tag along. I have always enjoyed the drive from Chandigarh to Delhi, especially the stopovers at Dhabas en-route. I generally make something  to munch during our trips and this time, I couldn’t  think of anything but Eggless Melting Moments. This is a recipe I found in Anu’s blog Divine Taste. This is one of our favourite munchies :-)

The good thing about working-from-home is that apart from doing the job, you get the freedom to do your own stuff as well. Had it not been for my job, I doubt whether I would have been spending so much of my time in front of the computer. One way or the other, my browsing sessions end in food related sites.  (more…)

I am a self confessed Chocoholic. Chocolate in any form, makes me go weak at the knees. When such is the case, how could I ignore a recipe that has triple chocotreats in it??? When I saw this recipe on Two peas and their pod‘s blog, I just couldn’t wait to try them. I didn’t waste any time in preparing it. How do I explain what I felt when I took the first bite??? Mmmmmmmmmmm….. (more…)

Christmas is just around the corner. When a festive day is fast approaching, the question you are asked the most is “What are you making special for the occasion?” Even though I haven’t really given it a thought, I was sure of making gingerbread cookies this time. This has been in my to-do list for quite some time now. What better occasion to try it out? I didn’t have to struggle hard for the recipe, (more…)
