Coriander Mint Coconut Chutney

For a South Indian, Chutney is a ‘must-have’ accompaniment for Idli or Dosa. There are a lot of varieties of Chutneys. Coriander Mint Coconut Chutney is the one I prepare often at home. It was only when a relative asked for the recipe, that I realised that I hadn’t posted it yet. So here we go 🙂

Coriander Mint Coconut Chutney
Coriander Mint Coconut Chutney is an accompaniment that goes very well with Idli or Dosa.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Grated fresh coconut
- 1/2 cup Chopped onion
- 1/2 cup Chopped Coriander leaves
- 2 tablespoons Chopped Mint leaves
- 1-3 green chillies (adjust to taste)
- 1/2" piece Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon Tamarind paste
- to taste Salt
Instructions
- Put the grated coconut, onion, green chilli, mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, tamarind paste and salt in the grinder.
- Add adequate water and grind to a smooth paste.
- Serve immediately.
