Bhatura/Bhatoora/Batura

I Love the Chole- Bhatura combination, whereas it’s just the opposite for J. Hence I always prepare it when he’s away, travelling 🙂 The combination of Bhatura with Pindi Chole, sprinkled with chopped onions is my all-time favourite…yummmmm..I’m already drooling. I have always been following the recipe from my favourite cook book by Jiggs Kalra. Though the dough can be prepared well in advance, it’s better to fry the Bhatura just before serving.

Biscotti

One aspect I like about sending lunch/snacks for D to school is the feedback. One can’t get a more honest feedback. I always look forward to hear the feedback, especially when I send something new. Getting positive feedback encourages me even more to try new dishes. After receiving appreciation for the brownies I had sent the other day, I decided to make Biscotti. This has been in my to-do list for a while. The preparation of the dish is very easy. However, the baking takes a while. But trust me, it’s all worth the effort when you bit into those…

Eggless Moist Carrot Cake

One can find a lot of substitutes for egg, on the net. The list of substitutes includes curd, banana, flax seed powder etc. However, I was apprehensive of recommending something without actually trying it out. Few days back, while chatting with a friend of mine, she said that she was looking for an eggless version of Carrot Cake. I almost suggested to try my Moist Carrot Cake, but realised that I couldn’t possibly recommend without trying the eggless version myself. Having decided to follow the same recipe, I chose to use Flax seed powder as a substitute. The result was…

Christmas Cake/ Fruit Cake/ Plum Cake

Whenever anybody mentions ‘Plum Cake’, the first thought that comes to my mind is from my childhood days.
