Uggani (A breakfast snack with Puffed Rice)

Few days back, while discussing about breakfast dishes with my friends, someone mentioned Uggani. That caught my attention. On further inquiry, I came to know that the dish is made with puffed rice and is similar to Poha. Uggani seems to be popular in Rayalaseema, Telangana, Marathwada and North Karnataka. They have it with Mirchi Pakodas/Bajjis (Green Chilli Fritters) and vouched that its a must try combination. Hmmm..Interesting..Yet another “easy to make” breakfast dish. I just couldn’t wait to try it. After taking in all the tips from my friends, I made it and it was very well received by my boys. The beauty of it is that it can be made under 10 minutes.

I did omit the Mirchi Bajji part as I didn’t have the chillies with me. 🙁 Here’s the recipe.
