Milk Peda with Condensed Milk

We had plans to travel during this Diwali and hence I hadn't made any sweets. Unfortunately , the plan got cancelled at the last minuteandwe decided to spend the Diwali here itself. It's only today, when my neighbour sent some sweets, did I realise that I hadn't made any. Luckily I remembered about

  • 1 tin Condensed milk (400 grams)
  • 1 - 1/2 cups Milk powder
  • 1/4 cup Butter Clarified (Ghee)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon Pista Almond / slivers

  • Take a heavy bottomed pan and mix the condensed milk, milk powder, clarified butter and cardamom powder well without forming lumps.
  • Cook the mixture on medium heat, stirring continuously, till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Switch off heat and allow to cool.
  • When it has cooled to a bearable temperature, mix well using a spatula or your hands.
  • You will see that the mixture will be smooth and has a slight greasy texture.
  • Apply some butter in your palms and take small portions.
  • Make small balls and flatten it.
  • Garnish with pista/almond slivers.
  • Place on a greased plate.
