Dragon Chicken

Dragon Chicken is an Indo-Chinese recipe. This dish can be served as a starter as well as a side dish to go with Fried Rice. Dragon Chicken


  • 500 gms chicken Boneless cubed

For Marination

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 cup Cornflour

For the Coating

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 3 - 4 tablespoons Tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Spring onion Chopped
  • a few Cashewnuts split (Optional)


  • Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger- garlic paste, salt and pepper powder for at least 30 minutes.
  • Add the egg and corn flour and mix well.
  • Heat oil for deep frying.
  • Drop the chicken pieces in batches and fry till golden brown.
  • Drain onto an absorbent paper.Keep aside.
  • Heat another pan.Add 2 tablespooons of oil.
  • Add the ginger- garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.
  • Add the spring onion and saute for a few seconds.
  • Reduce heat and add the chilli powder.
  • Stir for a few seconds.
  • Add the soy sauce, sugar and tomato sauce.
  • Add the chicken pieces and cashewnuts and mix well till the chicken is well coated.
  • Switch off heat after a couple of minutes.
  • Check and adjust the seasoning.Serve hot.
