Dry roast the coconut till brown in colour. Cool and grind with little water, to form a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Mix the mutton with turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida and ginger-garlic paste.
Keep aside for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add bay leaf, cinnamon and onion.
Saute till onion turns translucent.
Tip in the marinated mutton and mix well.
Add 1/2 cup water.
Cover and cook on low heat till the mutton is 3/4th cooked.
Add the ground coconut paste and Malvani masala.
Continue cooking till the mutton is cooked through.
Add garam masala powder and mix well.
You may switch off heat once you get the required consistency.
Serve hot with Rice or any bread of your choice.
