Belagavi Kunda is a famous sweet of Belagavi, the erstwhile Belgaum. It takes a couple of hours of stirring to make this dessert. But worth all the effort.
- 2 ltrs Milk
- 1 cup Sugar (+ 1/2 cup or more)
- 2 teaspoons Cardamom powder
- 1 cup Curd Fresh
- 1 cup Chopped dry fruits
Boil the milk till the quantity is reduced to 1/3rd.
Add 1 cup sugar. If you want more sweetness,you may add more. Do keep in mind that we will be using the remaining sugar as well.
Add the curd. You will see that milk will curdle. Continue cooking.
Heat another pan.
Add the remaining sugar and heat till it caramelises and becomes brown in colour.
Immediately pour this into the milk mixture and stir well.
Continue cooking till all the moisture is evaporated.
Add the cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits.
Transfer to a greased plate.
Cut into squares.
