Vegetable Spring Rolls

Though one can find a lot of variations to spring rolls, the popular one seems to be the fried version. Spring Rolls are pretty easy to make, more so, if you have the spring roll sheets. These sheets are readily available in well-rstocked grocery stores/supermarkriets. you can prepare the rolls well


  • 1/2 cup Cooked noodles
  • Thinly sliced onion 1/2 an onion
  • 1/4 cup Thinly sliced carrots
  • 1/4 cup Thinly sliced capsicum
  • 2 Thinly sliced mushroom
  • 2 Roughly chopped bok choy (Optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic cloves paste
  • 1 teaspoon Fish sauce or Soy sauce
  • 10 Spring roll sheets
  • Oil for deep frying

For the paste

  • 1 tablespoon Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Water


  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan.
  • Add the sliced onion and saute till it is wilted and turns pink in colour.
  • Add the garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.
  • Add the carrots and saute for a minute.
  • Tip in the capsicum and mushroom and saute till it becomes soft.
  • Add fish sauce and cooked noodles and bok choy.
  • Mix well and allow to cook for a minute or two.
  • Adjust the seasoning.
  • Switch off heat.
  • Mix the flour and water to make a paste. Keep aside.
  • How to Assemble
  • Take a spring roll sheet.
  • Place a spoonful of the cooked mixture as shown in the picture.
  • Roll till you reach the centre of the sheet.
  • Flatten the edges of the roll.
  • Apply the flour paste as shown in the picture.
  • Fold both the ends towards the centre as seen in the picture.
  • Apply paste at the bottom.
  • Roll the roll till the end.
  • Prepare all the rolls in the similar way.
  • Make sure to keep the sealed end on the bottom.
  • Heat oil for deep frying.
  • When hot, carefully put the springrolls in the oil.
  • Fry till golden brown on either sides.
  • Serve hot with a sauce of your choice.
