Moroccan Spicy Prawns

The other day when I bought prawns, D promptly put up his request. "Mama, please make Stir Fried Prawns. You know how much I love it. " I was so looking forward to try out some new recipe. D's request put me in a spot. After racking my brains for a while, I zeroed in on Moroccan Spicy Prawns. It is

  • 500 gms Prawns Cleaned Deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil - (I used refined oil)
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne
  • to taste Salt
  • lemon Juice of a


  • Mix all the ingredients except oil along with the prawns.
  • Let rest for at least an hour.
  • If in a hurry, you can marinate for just 5-10 minutes.
  • The more you marinate, better the taste.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat and drop in the marinated prawns and let cook.
  • At first cook them on high heat for a couple of minutes or till they curl up.
  • Flip the prawns and cook for a minute.
  • Lower the heat and cook for about 5 more minutes.
  • Transfer the prawns to an absorbant paper.
  • Serve hot
  • This goes well with rice.
  • You can even serve it as a starter.
