Fried Chicken Liver Chilli
During my college days, I used to stay in a hostel near our college in Mangalore. Sometimes on Sundays, a sudden plan would take shape in someones head, to eat out. The next moment, we all would be out of our rooms, ready to head to 'Hao Hao', our favourite hangout for Chinese cuisine. I used to lov
- 500 gms Chicken Liver
- 1 tablespoon Chilli garlic paste (recipe follows)
- 1 - 1/2 teaspoons Soy sauce
- 1 onion big Chopped
- 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
- 1 Spring onion sliced fine
- 2 - 3 Green chillies (cut into pieces)
- 1 Capsicum chopped
- 1 teaspoon Chilli powder - (adjust according to your taste)
- as required Salt
For Chilli-garlic paste
- 4 - 5 chillies Whole dried red
- - 2 cloves Garlic - 3
- pinch Salt - a
- pinch Sugar - a
- 1/4 teaspoon Vinegar
Soak the chillies in warm water for 10 minutes and drain.Grind them with garlic, salt, sugar and vinegar into a fine paste.Keep aside.This is a rather spicy paste.So use only as much as you require.
Marinate the liver with 1 tablespoon chilli-garlic paste and 1 teaspoon soy sauce.Keep aside for at least 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan.Fry the liver pieces on high heat till the oil separates.
Remove the liver pieces to a plate.Reserve the oil
Add more oil to this if required.Heat the oil and add the chopped onion.Saute till they turn translucent.
Add the garlic paste and stir till the raw smell goes.Add the spring onions followed by capsicum.Saute for a minute.
Add chili powder.Stir well
Add 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce along with the fried liver pieces and mix well.Fry for a minute or two.Sprinkle salt and mix well.Switch off the heat.
Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with finely sliced spring onion or green chilies.
