Beef Cooked in Green Masala

Beef cooked in green masala is something I whipped up while I was in an experimental mood. This can be served as a starter as well Beef Cooked in Green Masala


  • 250 gms Beef
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee butter Oil / / Clarified (Optional)

To be ground to paste

  • 2 Onion big Chopped
  • 2 - 3 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 cup Coriander leaves Chopped
  • 4 - 5 green chillies (adjust to suit your heat tolerance)


  • Grind the onion, garlic, ginger, coriander leaves and chilies together to form a fine paste .
  • Mix this paste with beef along with vinegar and salt.
  • Keep aside for a couple of hours (those in a hurry can cook within 15 minutes as well:-) ).
  • If using oil/ghee, heat it in a pan and gently add the beef into the oil, along with the marinade.
  • Saute for a minute or two.
  • Cover and cook till the beef is done.
  • You can also cook in a pressure cooker as well, the frying part can be omitted. Once the beef is done, check if there's any liquid remaining.
  • If so, turn the heat to high and cook till the liquid is evaporated.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and finely sliced green chillies.
