Homemade Banana Jam

Sharing the recipe of Homemade Banana Jam. I used overripe bananas and raspberry red colour Banana Jam Source: My Diary


  • 500 gms Bananas
  • 1/2 cup Sugar (Heaped - You can adjust the sugar according to the sweetness you desire)
  • 1 Clove
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice


  • Peel and slice the bananas..
  • In a pan, boil the bananas along with lime juice and clove till the banana turns soft and mushy. (You can cool the mixture and pass through a clean muslin cloth to get a smoother mixture).
  • Add sugar, a few spoons at a time, and stir well until the entire sugar dissolves.
  • Bring to boil, skimming any froth from top.
  • Keep stirring, on medium heat, till you get a thick consistency.
  • Add the food colour and mix well.
  • Switch off the heat and transfer the jam into sterilised jars.
